Clipboard+ window
The Clipboard+ window is shown when you press the hotkey combination chosen on the Clipboard+ page of the ShellToys XP Settings window. This window displays all the currently-stored items previously copied to the clipboard. The most recent item is at the top of the list. The buttons above and below the list allow the items to be scrolled, or you can use the arrow keys or mouse-wheel.

Icons are used to denote the type of item:

The item contains text. The first few lines are shown, and you can view the first 8 complete lines in a tooltip by hovering over the item.

The item contains a graphic. The graphic is shown (scaled to fit, if necessary) and a tooltip displays the width and height of the original graphic.

The item contains one or more files or folders. The names of the first few items are shown, and the tooltip shows the full paths of the items. If any file or folder is no longer available, it will be shown as grayed-out in the item, and in square brackets in the tooltip. See the Note below.

The options for each item are available by right-clicking it. Here are explanations of each item:
Copy To Clipboard
Copies the selected item back to the clipboard, ready for pasting into another window or application. You can do this by simply double-clicking the item, or by selecting it with the arrow keys and pressing Enter.

Paste To Window
This option is available only for text clips. When you choose this option, the text of the clip is pasted directly into the window you're using, bypassing the clipboard. For example, if you're using Notepad and you press the hotkey to open Clipboard+ and select this item, the clip's text will be pasted into Notepad. (Note that you should only use this option in applications that expect to deal with text. We disable the item when the current window is the desktop or another known-incompatible window, but - of course - there is no built-in list of every application that doesn't work with text!)

Delete
Delete the selected item from Clipboard+'s store. You might do this to remove a very large graphic that you know you won't need to place on the clipboard again.

Clear History
Removes all items from Clipboard+'s store (but doesn't stop Clipboard+ itself).

Options
Opens the Clipboard+ page of the ShellToys XP Settings window, where you can change the hotkey combination or maximum number of stored items, or stop Clipboard+.

Note: When you copy files or folders to the clipboard, Clipboard+ only stores references to the files, not the files themselves. Therefore, if you later rename or delete one of the copied items (or if they were placed on the clipboard as the result of a Cut action) they can't be copied back to the clipboard from Clipboard+. In that case, Clipboard+ will warn if some of the files are no longer available, but will still place the others on the clipboard. If none of the files are available, a warning will also be shown but the clipboard contents won't be changed.
